NEW!
We are pleased to host the NEW Place d'Orleans Day Before Mothers Day Runs; which includes Half Marathon, 10Km, 5Km, 3Km, & 1Km distances . Thanks goes to the Place d'Orleans Centre for it's continued sponsorship support of this signature event, and for helping the minor sports teams and clubs which benefit from it. Thanks to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum for agreeing to be the new host site, since we have outgrown the former site. We encourage you to visit both the musum and Place d'Orleans following your event.
We also encourage you to support the Minor Sports, Recreation, and School Physical Education Organizations that are participating in this event.
It is a fun and fitness
day for everyone in the family - and a great chance to support your favourite club, team, organization, or school at the same time. If you know of a non-profit youth sport organization that fits into one of these categories, have them check out this FUNdraising opportunity.
There is a race distance for everyone, and you can walk or run, so bring the whole family. Pick your distance and go for it at your own pace.
Check out the Wylie Ryan Day Before Mothers Day 1 Km, and the Somersault Spring Kids Half Marathon Program for kids 11 and under, at http://www.somersault.ca/eventaustinwylie.htm.

sole responsibility - looking for gently used shoes
Your gently used running shoes can benefit refugees in Africa and the poor in our city. Please bring them to Race Kit Pick-Up to make a difference! Adult and children’s gently used running shoes can be dropped into the Sole Responsibility box at Race Kit Pick-Up. A toonie is requested with each pair to cover the cost of shipping.
This year the shoes will be sent to refugees in Yemen and Kenya through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In addition, your shoes will help local high school students participate in track and field, students whose families don’t have the means to buy proper shoes. They will also be provided to a local homeless shelter.

championchip
timing
We use Sportstats ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races.
This timing system requires that all participants
wear a ChampionChip Ankle Bracelet on their ankle during
the race. This bracelet contains a computer chip that
allows you to be timed. No chip = no time.
You are responsible for
obtaining your ChampionChip Ankle Bracelet on race morning
from the Sportstats Tent near
the Finish Line. Do this at least 30 minutes
before your race - earlier is better! Races
will not be held up waiting for those who forgot their
ankle bracelet.
You must return your ChampionChip
Ankle Bracelet immediately after you cross
the finish line. You are responsible for the
cost if it is not returned - and it is expensive.
your
results (Age is as
of December 31, 2012)
Your personal results will be posted shortly after
you finish the race. Please check the results
as soon as you can, to be sure they are accurate.
If there are discrepancies, go to the Sportstats
van near the Finish Line and provide them with the
information you think is correct. Results will
only adjusted after race day, if it is our error.
Have the results people make changes before you leave
the event site, or live with the results!
Results will be posted at http://www.somersault.ca/results.htm within 24 hours of the race.

race info updates
We will email 3 weekly Place d'Orleans Day Before Mothers Day Runs Newsletters to participants with the latest updates prior to the race. These newsletters are very important as they will identify changes, answer your questions and recommend race day procedures that will make your event day a better one.
Please provide an accessible email address on your entry form if you wish to receive these Newsletters. You may want to use a personal email address rather than your work email, because many employers utilize filters that will not let the Newsletter through.
