The 2011 Winterman Marathon, Marathon Relays, Half Marathon, 10Km, 5Km, and 3Km will take place on Sunday February 20, 2011, at the Canadian War Museum. The War Museum provides a stunning backdrop to the premiere of this prestigious annual event. Winterman is being held during Canada's winter festival - and is an official Winterlude event.
The War Museum is located at 1 Vimy Place in the heart of Ottawa and the National Capital Region, on the shores of the Ottawa River. The run course, an out and back loop of 5 kilometres follows the Ottawa River, and provides a great view of the city's stunning skyline on the return run.
Runners can choose distances from 3Km, 5Km, 10Km, Half Marathon, and Marathon distances. You may decide to run solo at any of these races distances, or you can choose to participate in the Marathon Relays. All finishers will receive a finish medal, a souvenir shirt (if you enter on time), a performance certificate, an official time, and a National Capital Region Winterlude experience.
You can check out the other weekend Winterlude activities which you can enjoy before and after your Winterman Run, at http://www.canadascapital.gc.ca
We invite you to come to Ottawa, on the weekend of February 20-21, to participate in, or watch, the 3rd annual Winterman Marathon, Marathon Relays, and associated races, as well as all the other Winterlude activities.

championchip
timing - by sportstats
We use ChampionChip Timing at all Somersault races. This timing system requires that all participants
wear a ChampionChip Bracelet on your ankle during
the race. This bracelet contains a computer
chip that allows you to be timed. No chip =
no time.
You are responsible for
obtaining your ChampionChip Bracelet on race morning
from the timing people at the Sportstats Tent inside the Museum. Do this at least 30 minutes
before your race - earlier is better! Races
will not be held up waiting for those who forgot their
bracelet.
You must return your ChampionChip Bracelet
immediately after you cross the finish
line. You are responsible for the cost if it
is not returned - and it is expensive.

Please do this on race, as results will not be adjusted after race day.
Have Sportstats make changes before you leave the event
site. Results will be posted at http://www.somersault.ca/resultsrun.htm the evening of the race.
