NEW CLUB: Parathriathlon Ontario

They are the first club of this kind in Canada, and sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario. They welcome athletes of all levels, ages and goals: youth, age-group, development, and high performance.They're an inclusive club with a vision and mission centered around breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of community among its members.

Through personalized coaching and comprehensive support, including equipment procurement assistance and connections with local training facilities, the club empowers para-athletes across the province, building teamwork and facilitating training in person and through online platforms.

Upcoming events: Paratriathlon Skill Series/Training Days (location TBD)

  • One Saturday per month in May/June/July/August.
  • Finish this series as a team, with a closed-course paratriathlon in August.

Triathlon Canada Camp and Race (Montreal)

  • June 27th-30th, alongside the World Triathlon Para Series in Montreal.
  • Participate in an Open paratriathlon event, on a closed course (Parc Jean Drapeau).

CNIB "I can Tri/Du" Program (Ottawa)

  • 12 week program starting in June (earlier start possible for interested athletes).
  • Program open to youth (age up to 29) with visual impairments.
  • Individualised training plan, using a combined in-person and online program to introduce youth to the sport of triathlon.
  • Also open to experienced athletes with visual impairments who would like to take their training to the next level.
  • The program leads up to Somersault Event's "The Canadian", on August 31st.
