The Canadian is one of the most exciting run events event on the Somersault summer schedule. It features a dramatic finish on the Terry Fox Run track in front of a crowd of cheering spectators.

Race Day Parking Options :
Hog’s Back Road (access from Riverside Drive only)
There is a limit of 150 cars in the lot. We anticipate that this lot will be full by 8:00am and exiting this lot will be slow until about 12:00pm
Terry Fox Athletic Facility
This lot is right beside Terry Fox Stadium. It has room for a limited number of cars.
Mooney’s Bay Parking Lot off Riverside Drive south of Hog’s Back Road
This is a metered parking lot which is open to the public, in which you are responsible to feed the parking meters.
Alternative Parking
In addition to the above lots, you can park in some of the lots along Brookfield Drive These lots are convenient to the event site, but you park at your own risk. Please obey parking/no parking, and payment signs. Please note that the Rideau Canoe Club (RCC) on Hog’s Back Road is out of bounds for National Capital Tri/Du parking, as we have not secured permission to park there.
Theres no access to Hog’s Back Road from Prince of Wales Drive. Please do not attempt to enter Hog’s Back Road from Prince of Wales Drive on race morning. Hog’s Back Rd. will be closed. Access to parking lots and the race site is from Riverside Dr. only.
5K & 10K Course Description
The start line is on the track inside the stadium at the finish line. Runners exit the stadium and follow the paved pathway through Mooney’s Bay Park to Riverside Drive. They run along Riverside Drive and Revelstoke Drive to the 5km and 10km turn points.
Half Marathon Course Description
The start line is on the recreational pathway adjacent to the stadium beside the bleachers. Runners follow the paved pathway through Mooney’s Bay Park to Riverside Drive. They run along Riverside Drive and then Revelstoke Drive to the Turn Around point which is on Revelstoke Dr. The Half Marathon consists of 4 complete loops of this course.
2784 Governor General's Foot Guards (GGFG) Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps (RCACC) is part of the largest youth group in Canada, the Canadian Cadet Organization. This program is sponsored by the Canadian Forces and the Army Cadet League of Canada. The fundraising efforts this year are being directed toward purchasing equipment for their biathlon team, music and drill, and shooting teams.
