The second of the Capital Challenge events is coming up!
The National Capital is the oldest triathlon in Ottawa and one of the oldest in Canada behind the Smiths Falls Classic! This historic race is also one of the most popular events on the Somersault calendar! This event can get very competitive but it’s also a perfect event for anyone new to the sport. The atmosphere at this event is always exciting and exhilarating!
Over that past 38 years, the National Capital has grown to include a number of different distances and events including duathlon, swimcycle and run events.
In 2019, we’re excited to announce that the National Capital will host a Triathlon Ontario Youth/Jr/U23/Elite Cup!
In addition to the age group race, the National Capital will feature some of Canada’s top rising stars in triathlon! This is an exciting first for Somersault as we add a layer of competition and depth to our event series! We’re excited to provide a place for aspiring young athletes to compete and develop their competitive skills! Canada has always been a hotbed for triathlon talent and Somersault is excited to play a small part in the development and growth of competitive triathlon!
The Somersault Event Series is the pre-eminent event series in Eastern Canada consisting of triathlon, duathlon, and running events for all ages and abilities.
As the COVID-19 situation and directives from our governments and public health agencies continue to evolve quickly, we have decided to pause new registrations for Somersault’s first three multi-sport events this season which include The Early Bird Tri/Du and Run, The Britannia Park Tri/Du and Run, and the Smiths Falls Classic Tri/Du and Run.
